A novel ablaze with the
fiery flames of malevolent schemes, family loyalty and magnificent
passion that tests the wills of two strangers. Mercy Hudson, the
proud, sensual Irish lass whose strong, independent constitution could
never be conquered--until she met the dashing, honorable man who
promised her a lifetime of passion and adoration . . . Will Owen, the
son of a common farmer who plunges her world into a tailspin when he
enlists in the army to bring peace to a nation torn apart by Civil
War, and to stop bloodthirsty, renegade Indians on the war path. But
neither are able to dispel the days their souls were lost forever to a
passion so fierce, a love so strong, even death cannot destroy it.

Excerpt
Her own
voice sounded foreign, husky and low. "I know why I came to
Minnesota."
"Because you
like snow?"
"No," she
slapped him playfully. "Because you were here, waiting for me."
His fingers
caressed her neck, moving on to the soft flesh of her breasts. He
unbuttoned her dress, slipped it over her head, and next, her
undergarments, pausing for a moment in the amber light to meet her
gaze.
"Is
something wrong?"
"Wrong? I
can't believe my eyes, and yet, everything is exactly as I imagined
it--subtle curves, a reed-thin body, a flat, firm abdomen, slender
hips, long sleek legs." His eyes traveled to her feet. "Right down to
the tiny toes."
She laughed,
a throaty, sensual giggle causing his dark blue eyes to bank with
passion. And then it coursed over her, an urgent need to meld into his
body, become one with him. Her fingers found their way to his head,
instinctively entwining into the mass of thick, dark hair. She pulled
him closer and closer until she felt every inch of his body against
hers. Passion stirred deep inside until her senses reeled from the
touch of him, the scent of him, the taste of him. He shifted his body
until he loomed over her, moved between her thighs, the muscles of his
back strong and taut beneath her trembling hands. And then, all
sensibility surrendered until she found herself matching his passion
with a fervent desire. The love between them was mesmeric, burgeoning
instantly from a sturdy sapling into a massive oak. She sighed in the
aftermath. They were lovers now, as well as friends.
It was
exquisite, falling asleep in his arms. Her thoughts hovered somewhere
between lucidity and dreamy flight. Isabelle's astute observations and
heartfelt declarations surfaced. "He's a caring man, lass, to every
person who's fortunate enough to cross his path. Some days it will
seem like the whole world has walked out on you, but he'll be there
for you, to waltz you through them."
Mercy doused
the lantern and then studied her husband through droopy lids, his
handsome face now relaxed in deep, contented slumber. If there had
ever been any doubt, it vanished now like the elusive wind. She closed
her eyes, drifting off with profound realization Isabelle was right.
Will Owen was a man she'd never be able to dispel from her soul.

"Sky-Tinted Water is a tale well worth reading." says
Frost
"K. Celeste
Bryan weaves a fascinating and historically detailed
accounting of the progress from New England to Minnesota
and the new life there awaiting the immigrants. In
addition, Sky-Tinted Water contains excellent
background information on the status of Ireland in the
early 19th century, including the Potato Famine, and the
hard life lived on the American frontier by hardy pioneer
survivalists. The characters are empathetic and appealing
and the reader will find Sky-Tinted Water a tale
well worth reading."

Sky Tinted
Water is set in the untamed wild of the Midwest during
the nineteenth century. Mercy Hudson is a strong caring

be tested by the violence of the uncivilized west. Will
Owen is struggling to rise above his farmer roots and
become more. Hopefully by helping to tame this wild land
as he does so. Together they will face many challenges
and heart breaks but will their love help them survive?

Sky Tinted Water
by K. Celeste Bryan is a well-researched and well-written
historical fiction with a beautiful love story. The
characters are physically and mentally strong and possess
great convictions. I love reading about people etching
out a new life in a new land, and Ms. Bryan provides such
wonderful details that you feel completely transported
back in time. There is always room on my bookshelves for
her books. I anxiously await the sequel, Beneath a
Crimson Sky."
FIVE HEARTS
for SKY TINTED WATER from A Romance Review
"This is a great
book by a gifted author, K. Celeste Bryan. This was more
than a love story; this was a family's struggle to survive
in a new land. In the 1800's you had to be strong, not
only in body and mind, but also in spirit and faith. A
highly recommended read! FIVE ROSE REVIEW!"
